Following the first measureable snow of the season, members of the Bay Village Civic Association celebrated the holidays on Tuesday, December 10. It was a wonderful gathering!
So many members joined us that the entire restaurant was filled with conversation and smiles. Quite a few people noted the evolution of the group. Just seven years old, BVCA membership has steadily increased. Prior parties were more intimate, but this group was evidence of the growth.
While some were still recovering from Sandy and sharing stories about NY Rising, many residents were happily back home. Holiday plans were discussed and some additional house parties planned. Pictures of family, pets and homes were shared.
One of the hot topics was the future of the former Brunswick Hospital site. Another was the future of the Village in the face of the changes since Sandy. Future membership meetings are sure to be interesting.
The Bay Village Civic Association represents the residents of the Village of Amityville. Their 7th Annual Luncheon/Raffle is scheduled for Sunday, January 26 at the Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club at noon. For more information, email bayvillagecivic@aol.com or call 516/983-4883.
