Steve Bellone Guest Speaker at April BVCA Meeting

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone was the guest speaker at the April 21 Membership Meeting of the Bay Village Civic Association.  The speaking engagement had been arranged about two months prior at the request of Mr. Bellone’s office.  The Suffolk County Executive wanted to reach out to civic associations to further explain his State of the County speech, while answering specific questions.

In his speech, Bellone highlighted three of his goals for the County:

  1. Government Reform
  2. Water Quality
  3. Economic Development

During the Q & A session, topics included the LIRR, “Connect L.I.” initiative, public safety, funding for downtown development, as well as a possible change in status for Republic Airport as proposed by Gov. Cuomo.

The BVCA was assured that the Suffolk County Executive supported keeping Republic Airport a general aviation airport.  That was applauded by the entire audience.

An Amityville cap and “Friendly Bay Villager” sweatshirt were presented to Mr. Bellone as an expression of the BVCA’s gratitude.
